This impressive cultural travel is located in Conchucos valley, this amazing and mysterious pre-Inca temple is considered the main culture in all the Andes, was discovered by Peruvian archaeologist Julio Cesar Tello in 1919, who introduce to the world about the existence of this Andean culture, is considered as: the cradle of Andean civilization, the oldest stone structure of Peruvian culture (200 BC ), inside the imposing temple, we find the monolithic Lanzon of Chavin. The Temple is decorated with the famous tenon Heads around it and rock slab of ovelisco Tello and Stela Raimondi with anthropomorphic figures.

BRIEF ITINERARY

Day 01 huaraz – querococha lake - chavin de huantar - huaraz

ITINERARY

Impressive guided day tour to pre- Inca culture

Breakfast at 8:00 am departure at 9:00 A.m/ trip length around 9 – 10 hours
Tour by bus, after your breakfast we will pick up you at your hotel, with our touristic transportation, then we will drive to south of Huaraz until Recuay, from it, we are going to drive to the east toward mountains until Querococha lake, where we will make a short stop to take pictures about incredible green dark lake with several summits to the background later on the way we will be able to watch spectacular Peruvian map which is made on the hill by erosion effects.

Then we continue driving until reach tunnel cauish over 4550 m high to cross the cordillera Blanca from west to east, as soon as we cross we start descending by many switchbacks watching the view is tremendous about lot of arable areas on the hill of the background some of them are sown by Andean products such as: barley, wheat, beans, peas, corn, quinua, and another products. Others are just prepared to sown, but that arable areas look like mosaic from far away.

finally we arrive to chavin to enjoy a short trip into the ancient pre-Inca temple of chavin ruins, this impressive and mysterious temple has a structure made of enormous block stones, contain with several subterranean galleries and finely carved sculptures with designs, felines, birds and serpents, that is characteristic of chavin iconography, as well as contain stone lined galleries, where chavin high priest consulted their gods (the great idol or lanzon), performed sacrificial ceremonies and stored ritual paraphernalia. After visiting it we will go to have a tasty lunch, after that we come back to Huaraz. We will return about 7 pm.
