ITINERARYSuperb & scenic view from Laguna wilcacocha
The day hike begin with our guide will pick up you at your hotel with our private transportation and then we’ll drive on good paved way about 20 minutes to the south on the main way that go from Huaraz to lima until shirapampa bridge. From where we will start hiking up toward Willcacocha Lake, The hike is gradual ascent upon by footpath when we reach higher and higher the view will be better and better, we will pass through santa cruz village where the land is used for agriculture.
As soon as we arrive the shallow lake at 3600m to be sure we will be awarded by the magnificent Mountain View to the Cordillera Blanca, it is really scenic view about summit of cordillera blanca, which are chained each other some highlighted are: mount huandoy, Huascaran copa, hualcan, vallunaraju, ranrapalca, churup, huantzan, shacsha & yanamarey group and caullaraju to the south. We will look the perfect overlooking point to have lunch time enjoying the overwhelming view and clicking stunning and panorama photos.
Descend we will take the same way up or we decide to take different way down traversing and to shansha village and ending in paria bridge (this option to descent is just only when your knees are not injured) either option that you can take at end of hike our private transportation is waiting us to bring Huaraz
Extend time: 2 hours more
If you feel to be in fitter we extend our day hike to become longer and demanding for two hours more than many others that you can see. In this option we will walk up an hour more toward the superb view lookout at 3800m, where the mountain scape is really exiting with breath taken and lovely view around us, then we back on the same ascend way up, we descend for half hour until the shallow lake then we follow walking down until the shirapampa bridge.

WHAT TO BRING
- Hiking boots or hiking shoes: These are the boots you will wear on the day hike. For example a B0 is advisable.
- A couple of fast drying base-layer tops (whatever material can be long sleeve is advisable)
- Mid – layer (mid weight fleece or a synthetic insulation jacket (e.g primaloft)
- Down jacket is nice or a micro –down jacket (optional)
- A woolly hat and thermal gloves ( polar Tec)
- A light weight waterproof jacket, pants or over-trouser (Gore - Tex) are recommendable.
- Wind proof waist coat, jacket (optional)
- Short pants
- Sunglasses is essential
- At least pair of good quality hiking sock (liner sock can be to reduce abrasion and blister.
- Wear light/medium - weight trousers that allow the free movement and will dry quickly
- A good sun hat or synthetic is essential
- Neck gaiter or balaclava (wool or synthetic, mid-weight)
- 2 liters water bottle or camelback
- Good quality sun cream for using around the camp
- Lip balm
- Insect repellent
- Hiking steaks or trekking poles are useful a compact 3 section (leki or black diamond)
- Duffel bag or ruck with a carrying a capacity (around 60 - 70 liters) with padlock.
- A 25 – 35 liters day pack to carry spare clothing, snack, camera and water to drink during the day hike
- MP3 players, paperbacks.
- Mobile phones
- Should include: plasters, antiseptic, cream, sterile gauze and bandage, rehydration sachets, zinc oxide tape and anti-inflammatory painkillers such as ibuprofen or aspirin.
- Bring paracetamol, and acetazolamide or Diamox for treating mild symptoms of (AMS).
- Have loperamide is a good idea in case you get the runs
- Antibiotic such as: ciprofloxacin or Bactrim for bacterial stomach bugs.
